INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED ON THE RIVER WALK IN PUEBLO
The 4th of July is a Federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Thirteen colonies united as a new nation and became the United States of America. Independence Day is also considered “National Day” of the United States. It was actually on July 2, 1776, that Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declared that the United States was separated and independent from the rule of Great Britain. Each of the thirteen colonies had representatives who signed the Declaration of Independence.
