Constance Archuleta came to Pueblo in 1998, and since has been an active member of our community in the field of fine arts. After graduating with distinction with an Associates of Arts degree from Pueblo Community College she became an instructor at PCC for 12 years teaching visual arts. Her influence and encouragement to her students put them on a forward path in the field of fine arts, and their hands on experiences working at the State Fair in the Fine Arts Gallery always produced a successful exhibition each year.
Archuleta was the PCC Gallery manager for a year, and she went on to work with the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Gallery for 13 years. For seven years she was the assistant to the Fine Arts Director, and served 5 years as the Gallery manager at the State Fair. Archuleta was also Collaborator for Pueblo Community College with the Business of Visual Arts Class program. She retired in 2016, but continues to be active in the art community. Many of her paintings, photographs, ceramics and 3-D works have taken numerous awards at art exhibitions locally.
Today, Archulta is acting director of the Pueblo Art Guild located in Mineral Palace Park. There are monthly shows with a different theme each month where local artists can enter their works for judging. You can see her works frequently at the Art Guild and at the State Fair. Her worldly travels with her husband Louis to exotic places such as Canada, Bolivia, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Turkey, Europe, and Asia, enabled Archuleta to bring back extraordinary photographs of memories of her adventurous trips.
Not only is Constance Archuleta an inspiring mentor to young artist just starting off, but is a successful artist herself. She has made a name for herself in our community and has been an important contributor in the field of fine arts in Pueblo.
